Terms of use

Last updated August 2026. These terms cover huum and everything published under it, including Drone Map.

1. Who we are and what this covers

huum is software for UK drone operators: clients, sites, jobs, quotes, invoices, fleet, pilots and the paperwork behind them. Drone Map is our free UK airspace map, published as part of huum and covered by the same terms. Where a section below applies only to one of them, it says so.

2. Drone Map, and what it is not

Drone Map is a planning aid. It shows airspace information drawn from third-party sources, runs planning checks against it, and keeps the results on your record. It is not an official aeronautical information service, not a navigation service, and not legal advice.

Airspace boundaries, restrictions, NOTAMs and verdicts are provided free of charge for general planning only, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. They may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, inaccurate or out of date. Always check the official NATS AIS briefing and confirm any required permission with the controlling authority before you fly.

Some layers carry their own limits and say so where they are drawn. Live manned aircraft comes from volunteer ADS-B receivers and shows only what is broadcasting and being heard, so it is a second pair of eyes and never a clearance. Masts, pylons and power lines come from OpenStreetMap, which is contributed rather than surveyed: a structure can be missing, and most publish no height.

3. Your responsibilities as a pilot

You remain solely responsible for every flight: for complying with the Air Navigation Order and the UK Open and Specific category rules, for the conditions of any authorisation you hold, and for your own judgment of safety. Nothing shown here overrides the law, an official notice, or what you can see in front of you.

4. Flight reports and public profiles

Flight reports and operator profiles are published by users and shown publicly by design. A flight report is not a NOTAM and satisfies no legal notification requirement. Reports are not verified; treat them as unconfirmed information from other users. Do not publish anything unlawful, misleading, or containing personal data you have no right to share. We may remove published content at our discretion.

5. Accounts and records

You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you keep and for the confidentiality of your account. Exported documents, generated SOPs included, are working documents that need review and adoption by your accountable manager before operational use.

6. Plans and billing

The map is free, with or without an account. Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the pricing shown at purchase. You can cancel at any time: access to paid features ends at the close of the paid period, and you keep read access to the records you created.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, huum accepts no liability for loss arising from reliance on the information displayed, including flight decisions made with it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Every source Drone Map draws on, and the licence it is used under, is listed on the licences page.
